My dad always reminds me of how they took care of me, how they will take me all the way from Agbor, delta state to amusement Park in Benin city. He also talked about how he uses to back me on his back. How he buys me SMA formula in Cartoons and I will finish it within a space of time . He’ll always end with give your children the best because you had the best.
One day, I asked him where are the pictures to proof I had the best, he said he doesn’t know how the pictures got misplaced and show me this particular one every now and again.

I’m chuckled for a while and to pull his leg, I will say to him, NO! daddy you didn’t give me good childhood and the next thing I will hear is him calling my mum by the time she comes, he will say, hear what your daughter is saying that she didn’t have a good childhood experience. That’s when my mum will be confirming everything they did for me including how they ensured I went to one of the best school as at then hmm! He laid so much emphasis on the school this is because of his love for education and at the end of the day, we will all end up laughing over it.

The truth is, I knew I experienced joy in my childhood especially during my 0-5years. I could still remember some of the cherish memories even though there are no pictures to proof these memorable experiences.

As parents, we must be intentional in all we do. I know we all thrive to give our children the best. You pay all the sacrifices, take them out and all. Please take pictures to make those special moments last forever. The pictures of your children you take now will go a long way to shape the memories of their childhood.

Also, get to show them these pictures once in a while by so doing, you’re connecting with your child/children, and they’re also learning skills like observation, communication, can build their imaginations and help them understand their family dynamics.
Remember to keep them safe and secure, get your love ones to know your storage methods and passwords. Remember that taking photos of your children is not always about social media, but it’s about creating memories that will help your children experience joy in their childhood.
